Download Old Version of GarageBand. I don’t know if this is the right place for this post but I’m getting desperate. I recently had to reinstall High Sierra on my old 2011 MacBook Pro and when I did this it deleted my copy of GarageBand. I tried redownloading my copy of 6.0.5 from the App Store but when I open and try to download the. Where To Download Old Version Of Garageband Garageband free. Download full Version As part of the upcoming transition to 64-bit technology in macOS, GarageBand 6.0.5 won’t be compatible with future versions of macOS, starting with the recently announced macOS Catalina 10.15.

Is there a reliable download an older version of Garageband I just bought a 2008 Imac with El Capitan loaded and there is no garageband. The only version available in the app store only works for sierra which my computer does not support. Yes older versions can be installed as long as the latest or versions in that series are comparable to that operations system. If it was a os9 version you will be able to run it however on limited capacity unless you have that operating system. Apple support says I have to upgrade to Big Sur to use GarageBand which is unacceptable for me. It seems strange to me. Mojave is still supported, there was a version of GarageBand that used to work with it. I can't believe GarageBand developers deleted older versions from their private repositories.

iPad (1st generation), 32GB, iOS 5.1.1, Wi-Fi Only
I recently purchased a 1st Generation iPad with the max iOS 5.1 and I need GarageBand on it. I have GB on my iMac but it doesn't show up in the Apps selection of iTunes so I'm stuck on how to request an older version of GarageBand.

Since the iOS and Mac versions of GarageBand are different, you'll need to purchase it in the Store section of iTunes. You can just search the store for GarageBand if you're having trouble finding it.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply...however, I think I need to reiterate, I need an 'older version' of GarageBand as I only have iOS 5.1.1 on my iPad. I need GarageBand 1.4....which isn't offered on in the Apple/iTunes store. Any idea who might have an old working link to older GBs?

I understand, but if you download the latest version of GarageBand in iTunes, you'll then be offered an older version if you try to download it from the App Store on your iPad. The App Store has a feature to let you download older versions of apps, but one of the prerequisites is that you already own the app, hence the need to download the latest version in iTunes.
